May Sales For Cambridge 2008

Mike Prilisauer and Kelly Sorbie believe this is a great time to buy that first home you have always dreamed about in Cambridge.

Based on statistics from the Kitchener Record, prices continue to rise.

The month of May brought 259 sales in the residential area in the City of Cambridge.  This represents a drop or 26% over May of 2007 (344 residential sales).

The year to date sales of residentail properties for the year has also decreased by 18% over 2007.  1144 residential units have been sold in 2008 compared with 1349 sales for the same period in 2007.

With sales decreasing it would seem logical that prices would be adjusted accordingly but this is not the case.  The average price of a home in the Cambridge area actually increased by 11% over the same time period.

Mike Prilisauer and Kelly Sorbie, sales representatives with Re/Max Twin City believe that a smaller inventory may indeed drive prices higher in the future.

Buying a home has never been easier.  Low interest rates combined with extended amortization rates and government insentives have made home ownership more affordable.  Call Mike or Kelly today to make your home buying dream a reality.
